Manoa Valley | Back to Hawaii page |
Towards the end of the trip I caught a bus up to the Lyon Arboretum in the Manoa Valley, just outside of Honolulu/Waikiki. Part of the University of Hawaii the Arboretum undertakes research work including a tissue culture program for propagation of endangered plants. I am not particularly into plants etc, but this was an opportunity to walk through a part of the valley and get an idea of what it looks like.
After a walk around I then headed off to follow a trail to Manoa Falls. Not much rain had fallen (probably just as well as it could of been a real muddy walk) so it was more of a trickle when I got to it. Surprisingly there were quite a few people walking the trail, for some of them it looked like a popular jogging route!
Below I have just posted some of the more colourful pictures that I took without any text, as there is no way that I can remember what they were all called (some may have a little comment if you hover over the picture).
