Nothing like a good picture of me! Taking a break along Coal Bay in Vancouver , you can see me modeling one of my few purchase so far on the trip. Actually it's not a great picture but I am wearing a fleecy zip up jacket which was purchased at the amazing price of £16! For those in the know I had been looking for ages at jackets and had just not seen the right one for me (very fussy!). Pam and I happened along this one in Vancouver and at that price I was hardly going to say no. Its probably not great for real bad weather, but it will do me for a while. |

A well earned break during Pam's lessons. Its much more tiring than that you might think, especially as we were walking a short way up the slopes until Pam became confident enough to give the chair lift a go. |
Pam had her lessons on Blackcomb mountain by the Magic chair as it was much quieter and the learner slopes can be walked up. Another bonus was that there was no one checking lift passes on the Magic chair so Pam did not have to shell out for a pass. Useful. Look at the smile on Pams face - thats one happy girl! |

I spy with my little eye... This ornamental telescope on one of the Whistler bridges was not a patch on my home made telescope. I could quite happily make out the rings of Saturn and the moons of Jupiter on mine - thanks to Phil Johnson for giving me the encouragement to build it. When I get back I must make a suitable base for it! |
Dave and I went to a talk hosted by local black bear researcher Michael Allen. Among other things we found out what these funny plants are called - Skunk Cabbage! It is one of the first sources of food for the bears after coming out of hibernation. I was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a cub and mother that were foraging below the Whistler gondola. Until I heard of other reports of the sighting I had thought I was imagining it, as no one else in the gondola had noticed them. |

During a visit to the top of the Gondola Pam and I tried a dish called 'Poutine'. This turned out to be chips in gravy with some weird cheesy bits thrown in for good luck! It was quite nice actually and was made by a Canadian from Ontario, which he assured us was the home of Poutine. I seem to remember there was a fight to get the last chip. |
| Whats this - Pam eating more food! No I am being biased here by just showing more pictures
of Pam.
Well, we had seen the adverts on TV and when we finally came across a Dairy Queen joint we just had to try their Ultimate Burger! We had loads of different burgers, and I think this one we both agreed was the best. |

A rare, and quite small, picture of us all together. Taken at the Teppanyaki restaurant where we had paid the most for dinner at whistler. The food and display was well worth it, and I would recommend you go at least once. |
